Boat pose is all about finding balance and strengthening your core so you can sail through the currents of life with ease.
Start seated with your legs out in front of you and hands on the floor just behind your hips. Keeping your heart lifted and spine long, lean back slightly so you are sitting on your sit bones and tailbone (like a tripod). Once you feel stable, engage your core and bend your knees. Lift the feet off the floor so your calves are parallel to the ground. Bring your arms out long in front of you with palms facing inward, shoulders back. Breathe here, or take it a step further by lengthening your legs and drawing your arms over head. This will bring you into a “V” shape. Welcome to boat pose!
